Add Tare

This screen allows you to add additional tares to Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs).

ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS

This view may be accessed by clicking on the Add Tare button from the Advance Shipping Notice screen. The ASN screen may be accessed during creation of or maintenance of an ASN.

FIELD DEFINITIONS

Shipment Identification

The shipment ID (display only).

Shipper Number

The shipper number (display only).

Tare

• Tare Identification—The identification number given to each type of tare. You may have more than one tare with the same ID, as long as the serial number for each tare on the ASN is unique.
• Supplier Tare Identification—The identification number given to a tare by the supplier.
• Serial Number—The unique number identifying a tare on a shipment. This number may be printed on a barcode label and affixed to the tare for shipment. If SupplyWEB has been set to auto-generate serial numbers, this field will be blank until the ASN is created or updated.
• Description—A short description of the tare.
• Tare Type—The type of tare on the shipment.
• Label Type—The type of label to be used with this tare. The choices are X12, KLT VDA, VDA, and Odette.
• Quantity—The quantity of parts in the tare.
• Weight Unit of Measure—The weight unit of measure for this tare.

  Note: If the shipping UOM is changed, the weight fields (Gross Tare Weight, Tare Weight, Net Weight) will be cleared in order to re-enter the correct data.

• Tare Gross Weight—The total weight of the tare plus the total weight of the parts.
• Tare Weight—The total weight of the tare.
• Net Weight—The total weight of the parts (the gross tare weight minus the tare weight).

Items

• Part Number—The part that is being shipped.
• Tare Identification—The identification number given to each type of tare. You may have multiple tares for a single part number, but you may not have multiple part numbers on a single tare. For example, you may have two pallets that carry the same part for one shipment, but you may not mix part numbers on a single pallet.
• Outside Process Code—The outside processing code of the item on this tare.
• Purchase Order Number—Purchase order against which the part is being shipped.
• Quantity—The part's quantity for the shipper.
• Cumulative Quantity—The total shipment quantity for this part.

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

Select Update to update the tare.

Select Cancel to cancel the creation of this tare.

Select Delete within the Tare section to delete this tare. Select Delete within the Items section to delete the items that are checked.

Select Add Part to add another part to the current tare.
